ACT - Overview
The Al Musanna College of Technology (ACT) is one of the seven technological colleges affiliated to the Ministry of Manpower. At present, there are three academic departments in the college namely: Business Studies Department , Engineering Department , and Information Technology Department. There are two centers in the college that play a big role in preparing and supporting students to achieve their academic excellence. These are the English Language Centre and Educational Technology Centre. The academic year is divided into two semesters and one summer semester.
The college adopted English Language as the medium of instruction. Since the level of English communication ability for most students is inadequate, a special one-year program of study is offered. This is called the General Foundation Program (GFP), which comprises four different levels. Students are required to pass the Level Exit Exam (LEE) at the Advanced Level and produce a proof of English proficiency of at least a Band score of 4.5 in IELTS, or a minimum score of 350 in TOEFL. This is a requirement before they will take specialization program either in Business, Engineering, or Information Technology.
With the proven years of service, ACT is still growing and offering free and quality education to the Youth of Oman.
