ACT celebrates World Book and Copyright Day

 

ACT Library annually celebrates World Book and Copyright Day, which falls on the 23rd of April of each year.

 

This year the ACT library organized a number of activities that highlighted the importance of books and reading, and the role of books in spreading knowledge among the different age groups of school children. 

 

The event was celebrated with the participation of our dean, Dr. Issa Saif Mohammed Al Tubi, Ms. Monia Mohammed Al Farsi, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, HODs and HOCs, staff from ACT and other educational institutions in the neighborhood such as Diaa El-Alam Primary School, Ateka Bent Abi Zafra Primary School and Umm Habiba Primary School. In addition, the Al-Bayan library exhibited their collection of books which consisted of story books as well as educational books for children. 

 

The ACT Library also organized a workshop on computer skills for the dismantling and assembling of computer parts. It aimed to train participants on how to deal with the hardware components of computers physically.  

 

Another event was the Omani Encyclopedia competition which aimed to test the knowledge of participants about different aspects of Oman through a number of questions.
