The Quality Assurance office organized the 1st College workshop on ‘Curriculum Review in Collaboration with the Industry Partners’ on 18 April 2017.
The GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) Robotics Competition is aimed to encourage undergraduate students and young professionals across the GCC Countries to build an innovative robust robot and compete in a pre-designed arena with space and time constraints, utilizing their academic knowledge and technical skills. The GCC Robotics competition is sponsored and organized by IET and IEEE, which are the largest professional engineering institutions.
The select members of the Board of Trustees for the technical colleges under the Ministry of Manpower and a delegation of CEOs from the private sector visited Al Musanna College of Technology on Thursday, March 2, 2017 in the presence of Her Excellency, Dr. Mona Salem Al Jardani, Undersecretary of Technical Education and Vocational Training, Ministry of Manpower.
The ACT Student Advisory Council conducted an introductory workshop for the new student Advisory Council members for the second term AY 2016-2017 on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. It was graced by Dr. Ahmed Ali Ahmed Al Shahri, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs.
An important event was highlighted this academic year when on 15 January 2017, Injaz Oman and ACT signed a Memorandum of Understanding, with the purpose of inspiring and guiding ACT students in the field of entrepreneurship. The MoU was signed by Dr. Issa Saif Mohammed Al Tubi, College Dean and Ms. Khaula Al Harthy, CEO of Injaz Oman.
ACT welcomed 607 students in the second batch of students for the Academic Year 2016 -2017. The English Language Center (ELC), in cooperation with Student Affairs, has organized an Orientation Week for new students from January 1 to 5, 2017.
The occasion was graced by His Excellency, Engg. Abdullah Mohammed Al Balushi, member of surah Mussanah wilayat and with him were other members of Surah. After the inaugural function Dr. Ahmed Ali Ahmed Alshahri, the Asst. Dean for Academic Affairs, Ms. Monia Mohammed Al Farsi, the Asst. Dean for Student Affairs , Mr. Hamed Juma Hamad AlNaimi , the Asst. Dean for Admin and Finance Affairs, escorted them around the campus to observe the festivities.
In our endeavor to build entrepreneurs of the future and to celebrate the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2016, the Department of Business Studies, Al Musanna College of Technology, had recently organized Entrepreneurship events – Innovation Camp and Student Business Exhibition.

During the special ceremony, a total of five hundred and thirty six (536) graduates were awarded with Bachelors (309), Advanced Diploma (24) and Diploma (203) Business Studies (211), Engineering (232) and Information Technology (93) degrees.
The best FURAP project award was won by SEAGSAO student researchers, Rashid Saif Al Yahmadi, Maher Khalifa Al Busaidi, Mohammed Rashid Al Maqbali, Gharib Jamil Al Mahrazi, Raad Khalifa Al Izki, Amal Saud Al Hadhrami, Hiba Bader Al Rujaibi with their main faculty mentor, Mrs. Analene Montesines Nagayo. The awarding ceremony was held during the TRC Annual Research Forum at Grand Millennium Hotel, Muscat on October 5, 2016.
ACT won the football championship for 2017 for the institutions of higher education, organized by Sultan Qaboos University.
Out of twenty nine students who participated in the competition, two students secured the first prizes with the same score
It was a lecture organised for students from the Business Ethics module of Business, IT and Engineering departments. The topic was ‘”What’s after my Graduation” in relation to Ethics’.
The ACT Engineering Society under the supervision of Students Affairs representatives of Housing and Activities organized an engineering week from 6th March, 2017 to 8th March 2017 for third years.
It consisted of four categories i.e. speech evaluation, humorous speech, table topics and the international speech contest.

The Engineering Society of ACT (TESACT) organized a seminar on ‘Planning for a Successful Life by setting Effective Goals’ on January 31st, 2017. It was presented by Ms. Mai Mubarak Thani Al-Saadi.
Mr. Jun Vincent Suela, Architectural Instructor in Civil and Architectural Engineering, started the workshop by memorizing 20 items given by the audience in random order.

Dr. Lenin Jeevanathan , HoS of Networking Section, Department of IT., explained Blooms Taxonomy viz. the LoT (Lower order Thinking) levels such as Knowledge, Comprehension, Application and HoT (Higher order Thinking) levels such as Analysis, Synthesis and Evaluation with clear examples.
ACT participated in the 5th Students’ Forum from 18th to 20th April 2016 which was held in HCT. It included many contests, exhibitions and students activities.

CISCO, TMENA recently held a workshop for Al Musanna Cisco Networking Academy last March 20, 2016. The workshop was attended by 25 students from the IT Department which is currently enrolled in the Cisco Networking Academy Program.
It was a special day for 13 special students from Level One in the English Language Centre of ACT. They were greeted and felicitated with gifts and certificates of appreciation.
This seminar was intended to highlight the various new technologies that are available today in the field of Mathematics teaching. These technologies were shown to create a platform for an enjoyable teaching and learning process with the help of Moodle.

IEEE Student Branch of ACT organized its first event “C Programming Competition” on 12th, 15th, and 16th June 2016 successfully. Nearly 21 teams from IT and Engineering Departments participated in this intra college competition.
On May 25th 2016, the Information Technology department organized a workshop on Professional Logo Designing Tools and Techniques. The workshop was conducted by a guest designer Mr.Murshid AL Aamri from the Royal court affairs who owns a “logo designing company”.
