Business Studies Department successfully organized an Industrial Visit for the Diploma Year 1 students to Composite Pipes Industry on March 6, 2018. Composite Pipes Industry, located in the Sohar Industrial Estate and one of the leading companies in the oil and gas sector, has a major role in the development of the Sultanate, being responsible to channelize the flow of oil and gas distribution work in Oman through indigenously manufactured fibre glass pipes. CPI is proud to achieve a very high market share in the sultanate as well as world markets through its high quality products and services in compliance with customer specifications and international standards.
Mr. Binu Accounting Manager, Mr. Venkatesh Project Manager, Mr. Salim Al Saidi Personnel Manager and Ms. Amna HR Manager welcomed all students and staff of ACT to the Composite Pipes Industry. The students were enlightened with a well-organized presentation by Mr. Venkatesh, who talked about the industry since the time of its inception, presented an overview of its departments, functions, productions, its various clients and its current market tends. The students had a tour of the industry and were enriched with widened real experience about the hardships behind the pre and post stage of a product before it comes to the market.
The various queries of the students were clearly answered by the heads of concerned departments. The students realized the value of time management, dedication, commitment and team work shown by all the members of the industry to achieve high excellence.
The organizers of the event whole heartedly thanked the management of CPI for rendering a great opportunity and industrial experience for the students. Ms. Fatma Jamil Al Rawahi, representative of the student community, expressed a vote of thanks on behalf of all students to the Management of CPI for their support in making this visit a fruitful one.
The Management of the Composite Pipe industry presented a letter of appreciation to the staff members. They welcomed all the students and staff for a further visit to the industry, while encouraging students to work in CPI in future.
There were 22 students who visited the industry. The visit was organized by Ms. Halima Said Khalfan Al Shuraiqi and Ms. Viji, Lecturers in Business Studies Department.
