The Department of Engineering, ACT Musanna hosted a 3-day Workshop-cum-Training programme titled ‘MUSTADEEM: Comprehensive Course of Renewable Energy Sustainability’ organized by Nafath Renewable Energy LLC and the IEEE Student Society of ACT.
This workshop was in connection with the installation of a renewable energy project, funded by the British Petroleum Company (BP-Oman) and executed by Nafath Renewable Energy LLC, as part of their efforts to support the community. It helped around 80 engineering students and 15 staff members to gain insights into the concept of Renewable energy and its role in enhancing a clean, safe and greenhouse gas emission-free environment.
The workshop was inaugurated on 19 February, 2018 in the gracious presence of the Dean, Dr. Issa Saif Mohammed Al Tubi, along with the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Ali Ahmed Al Shahri, the HOD (Engg.), Mr. Abdulhamid Hamdan Humaid Al Hinai, heads of sections, staff members, and students. Mr. Abdullah Al Saidi, CEO of Nafath Renewable Energy addressed the gathering and introduced the company’s MUSTADEEM programme.
The 3-day training program covered the basic concepts related to hybrid renewable energy, including solar and wind energy systems, load calculation and design along with the selection of components, safety features, connection and installation procedures.
The workshop ended on 21 February, 2018 with a Vote of Thanks by the HoD, Mr. Abdul Hamid Al Hinai(Engg.) and the attendees were presented with a certificate of participation from Nafath Renewable Energy LLC.
