Workshop on Developing Course Materials using Open Educational Resources (OER)

The IT department organized a workshop on 10 May 2018, involving the ADAA, QAO, the HODs, HOSs, and nominated staff members from all academic departments and centers of ACT, to discuss, review and familiarize themselves with the process of effective and appropriate ways of integrating OERs in Course Handouts and Materials.


The workshop was piloted by Dr. Divyajyothi M. G., Faculty - IT Department, under the able guidance of IT-HOD, Dr. Gnana Rajesh D.


The prolific workshop focused on methods of finding OER, licensing terms and issues, review of guidelines, templates and course material samples developed by the IT department and IT specialization Committee. The participants showed interest in discussing and understanding the clauses and licenses.


The Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs (ADAA), Dr. Ahmed Ali Ahmed Al Shahri, encouraged staff members to make effective use of OER and develop course materials using the same.


Overall, the workshop met its objective of conveying the significance of using OERs in Course Material Development, with all the academicians sharing their opinions and concerns.
