A Workshop on ‘CV Writing and Interview Skills’ – Business Studies

The Student Activities Committee of the Business Studies Department organized a workshop on ‘CV Writing and Interview Skills’ on 5 November 2019.  The workshop was conducted by Mr. Mostafa Diouane, an English trainer from Orpic, Sohar. Students from IT, BS and Engineering participated in the programme.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Mouza Al Habsi, HoD Business Studies Department with an introductory speech, where she highlighted the prominence of writing a valuable CV to get a good job. She also shared her own experience in the job search process, which was a great source of motivation to the students. Mr. Shrikant Taware, HoS, E-Business graced the occasion with his presence and support.

The speaker, Mr Mostafa Diouane, enlightened students with his vast experience on writing a proper CV in order to impress a prospective employer and get the job.  He highlighted the importance of a good CV for a job seeker and apprised them of current job market trends.

 

Being a senior academician with multifarious industry experience in Orpic Oman and various other institutions, the workshop by Mr. Mostafa was a great opportunity for students to gain insights into the topic. The speaker handled all the queries of the students with great enthusiasm and even gave a brief explanation about how to attend an interview with ease and the vital behavioural patterns of a candidate during the interview process.

 

In the end, the speaker was felicitated with a certificate of appreciation and a memento as a token of appreciation by Dr. Mouza Al Habsi, HoD of Business Studies. She also expressed her heartfelt thanks to Ms. Naayama Al Zefeiti, coordinator in Orpic, Mr. Mostafa, Mr. Mohammed Kharousi and the entire team of Orpic for providing this opportunity to ACT as a part of their social responsibility in uplifting the student fraternity.
