The Mathematics section is under the roof of the Department of Information Technology. Ms. Mini Punnolli is the Head of the Mathematics section, instrumental in shaping its activities and enabling the growth. The Math section helps the students in achieving their required Graduate Attributes, values and their program outcomes through effective pedagogic methods and efficient administration. Math section deals with the mathematics subjects for General Foundation Program (GFP) and post foundation program. The math section has a strength of 18 well experienced and qualified teachers to facilitate the student learning requirements and achieve the college's standards. Math section teachers have vast research experience, and they have published research papers in various national and international journals and other publishing platforms.

IT department has offered various Math courses for General Foundation and post foundation programs. In GFP, Math section offers foundation courses like Basic Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Pure Mathematics. The GFP has a centralized curriculum and assessment throughout all the seven branches of University of Technology and Applied Science. Calculus I, Calculus II, Math for IT are the courses that are being offered at the Diploma level. At the Advanced Diploma level, Discrete Structures, Probability and statistics for IT, Engineering Mathematics are being currently offered, and at the B. Tech level, Probability & Statistics course is being offered to the students. Out of all these subjects, Math for IT has MATLAB and Probability and Statistics for IT has R programming for its practical execution. For all the mentioned subjects, the outcomes are common to all UTAS. Math Help Center (MHC) in various courses of Mathematics section provide necessary student support. The section continues its contribution to academic and research activities and rendering its fullest support to the Department and the University.
