ACT won 2 gold and 1 Silver medal in the Oman Skills 2018 competitions for technical colleges:

ACT congratulates the winners and the faculty members who guided them.

ACT participated in 6 Skill Sets among ten skills. 

 The IT department participated in 3 events.          

  • Information Network Cabling guided by Mr. Randy Catacutan & Mr. Rodrigo Jr Nabong won the Gold Medal (First prize)
  • IT Network Systems Administration guided by Mr. Mohammed Khalfan Saif AL Flaiti & Ajay Kumar Dhiman, Mr. Mohamed Ismail Anwar and
  • Web Design and Development guided by Mr. Kulasekar Panneer Selvam 

 The Engineering department participated in 3 events

  • CNC Turning   guided by Mr. Asad Ahmad Sahid khan Dayma won the Gold Medal (First Prize)
  • Mechanical Engineering CAD guided by Mr. K.K.Natarajan & Mr. Kantharaj Chinnappa won the Silver Medal (Second Prize)
  • Mobile Robotics guided by Mr.Emanuel 


The Oman Skills 2018 competitions for technical colleges was held from 25 – 27 June, 2018 in Muscat and concluded on Wednesday, with the participation of 137 students from seven technical colleges. The teams are preparing to participate in the world skills competition in Russia (Kazan 2019) through 15 skills. For the Gulf Skills in Kuwait 2018, the teams will participate in ten skills.

The event started on Monday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. It was organized by the Ministry of Man-power (MoM) represented by the Directorate General of Technical Education. The third day’s event was held under the patronage of HE Talal bin Sulaiman Al Rahbi, Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning.

The activities of the competitions concluded on Wednesday, under the auspices of His Excellency Engr Salim bin Nassar Al Aufi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Oil and Gas.
