Mr. Murat Kador, ELC lecturer, gave a well-received workshop entitled “Writing and Creativity: Applicable Solutions” on February 25, 2020 at EL214. The activity was part of the Staff Development Program workshop series in which ELC lecturers are encouraged to share instructional ideas that have worked well in their individual classrooms.
In his workshop, Mr. Kador shared some “food for thought” that included a list of interesting terminology on creative instruction and an exercise on finding similarities and differences in seemingly odd things. In addition, he introduced his audience to specific writing exercises that employed creative brainstorming and pre-writing techniques.
The participants appreciated the innovative techniques presented in the workshop which they plan to incorporate into their own writing lessons.
