ELC-SDP Conducts Refresher Series on Online Teaching Tools
The Staff Development Program Committee conducted a Refresher Course on MS Teams Applications and Other Online Teaching Tools from September 29 to October 20, 2020. The month-long online series aimed to re-acquaint Foundation and Post-Foundation teachers with the MS Teams platform and its related applications. The topics also covered reviews of other online teaching tools such as Wakelet, Padlet, and Quizlet.
E-learning Coordinator Mr. John Mathew spearheaded the activities with help from team members Ms. Maryam Imtiaz Qurashi, Ms. Puteri Ayufiza Binti Asmuni, Ms. Autumn Nicole Dinkelman, and Mr. Joy Alurappan. The Post-Foundation group held its own webinar series headed by their coordinator Ms. Afrah Al-Salmi with assistance from Ms. Salwa Al-Hadidi, and Ms. Sree Ammanamanchi
Subsequent meetings were conducted to monitor the teachers’ use of the online platform and its various applications. Question and Answer sessions were held in the weeks following to address any concerns or issues encountered by the lecturers while using the virtual teaching tools.
