A workshop on health, hygiene, and nutrition was organized by Mr. Mohammed Naveed & Dr. Rajendran Jayashree, members of the Health & Safety Committee of the Business Studies (BS) Department in coordination with the UTAS-Al Musannah Clinic staff. The workshop aimed to educate female students at the University on practicing personal hygiene and maintaining healthy environment within the University campus.
Ms. Maymona Al Balushi, a graduate of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Nutrition and Food Sciences and a certified trainer from the British Academy for Training and Rehabilitation & Ministry of Higher Education, was the resource speaker. Ms. Zamzam Ahmed Mohammed Alansari and Ms. Badriya Qasim Saleh Al Qasmi, Housing, Student Activities, & Graduation Student Affairs-UTAS-Al Musannah staff also delivered a speech and shared with the students some daily health care tips, personal hygiene activities, good sanitary practices, and the importance of having adequate nutritious food.
Around 30 students actively participated and benefited from this session as some of them discussed with the speakers their personal health issues and explored solutions to overcome them.
