On Wednesday, 28 September 2022, the Self-Access Center at the English Language Center organized an online induction program through Microsoft Teams targeting all foundation year students. The first session of the program targeted students of level 1 and 2, while the second session targeted students of level 3 and 4. The SAC`s Induction program was delivered by the SAC`s Coordinator, Ms. Nouf AlBadri who began by welcoming students and introducing the SAC`s staff. Then, she talked about the stories and books available in the SAC, as well as the worksheets and learning activities available for students. She explained after that how to search for stories for each level and how to borrow them through an electronic system prepared for that purpose. Then, she mentioned the rules of the SAC in addition to the rules of borrowing, returning, renewing and reserving books.

Amal Al-Yahmadi from the Information Technology Department and Arwa Al-Turashi from the Business Study Department talked to students about the Student Teacher Program. This is a program delivered by a group of excellent students with the aim of helping their colleagues in English, Mathematics and Information Technology subjects. After that, the SAC`s Coordinator mentioned some instructions for using the computer labs in the English Language Center. At the end of the meeting, an announcement for a reading contest was made which will take place during the first semester of the current academic year 2022/2023 with collaboration with the Students` Activities Committee in the English Language Center. The reading contest targets all foundation year students to encourage reading using the Self-Access Center resources.
