About ISACA Student Group

ISACA Student Groups (ISGs) encourage education beyond the classroom by allowing students to network and learn from each other, and connect with a supportive group of professionals. It offers great opportunity for the students to jumpstart their professional growth and development—even before they graduate. Each ISG is recognized by ISACA, affiliated with a local ISACA chapter, and encourages continuing education as well as personal and professional development by gaining knowledge and experience that moves them ahead of the competition when they graduate.

ISACA has its chapters and student groups across the globe developing and updating the skills of the community at large. With more than 520,000 engaged professionals, 130,000+ members, ISACA leverages their expertise in information/cyber security, governance, assurance, risk, innovation and enterprise performance. Since its inception, ISACA has become a pace-setting global organization for information governance, control, security and audit professionals. ISACA has a presence in 188 countries, including 217 chapters worldwide. Muscat is one such chapter and College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) is its sponsor which is affiliated to the Central Bank of Oman.

ISACA’s Second Officially recognized Student Group in Oman

Formed by a set of likeminded Information Security enthusiasts, the adage is to attain leadership in quality technical education, innovations, focusing on sustainable and inclusive technology and continuous professional development for staff and students. We promise to provide all student members enrolled at ACT-ISG greater career insight and networking opportunities in the areas of information security and assurance, IT risk management, audit, compliance and information systems. The organization is recognized by ISACA International and supported by the ISACA Muscat chapter.

Our Mission

  • Develop relationships and a channel of communication between member students and industry professionals working in relevant fields
  • Supplement classroom learning with greater career insight by inviting guest speakers and by interacting with professionals at events organized in accordance with ISACA Muscat Chapter
  • Provide a means for member students who share similar career interests to build a network with fellow students.
  • Raise the visibility of information security amongst both students and prospective employers.
