The ISACA Student Group of Al Musanna College of Technology (ACT - ISG) organized a seminar on Digital Forensics on 11 February 2020. The event took place in the college auditorium between 12 and 2 pm. The welcome address was given by Ms. Fatma Said Abdullah Al Abri, a member of ACT- ISG. She introduced the two external speakers from Muscat Chapter Board: Mr. Srikanth K Kota and Mr. APN Ajith Kumar.
In the first half of the programme, Mr. APN Ajith Kumar (Network and Security Consultant, Muscat Pharmacy & Stores LLC) gave a general introduction about the aims and objectives of ISACA. He made a detailed presentation of the various activities, short-term courses and other services offered by ISACA Muscat Chapter.
It was followed by a presentation on Digital Forensics by the second guest speaker Mr. Srikanth K Kota (Manager – IT Internal Audit, Bank Muscat). In his presentation, he stressed the importance of digital forensics in the modern world and conducted an informative practical demonstration on Digital Forensics investigation.
After the presentations, both speakers jointly conducted a short online quiz for the audience. The participants were asked to use their mobile phones to answer the questions. At the end of the quiz, the first three winners were announced. Mr. Z. A. Feroze Ahamed, Ms. Sajayasree K K and Mr. Randy Tongol Catacutan, respectively. The prizes were given by Dr. Najiba Said Hamed Alzadjali, HoD-IT.
Dr. Divyajyothi M.G., the Faculty Advisor of ACT-ISG gave the vote of thanks and the guest speakers were given mementos by Dr. Najiba Said Hamed Alzadjali, HoD-IT & Ms. Zainab Mohammad Nabhan Al Ma`awali, HoC-ETC. As a token of gratitude, Mr. Ajith Kumar & Mr. Srikanth gave a memento to the HOD-IT & HOC-ETC on behalf of ISACA - Muscat Chapter.
The IT Department would like to thank the HoD-IT and HoS - Dr. Lenin for the providing an opportunity for students to acquire experience and exposure from experts of cybersecurity.
