IT Dept. Inaugurates ACT-ISG (ISACA Student Group)

The IT department of Al Musanna College of Technology witnessed an eventful day on 19 June 2019. The college administration, Department/Centre Heads, staff members and students came together for the inauguration ceremony of ACT-ISG (ISACA Student Group). An ISG gives students the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience that moves them ahead of the competition when they graduate.

ACT-ISG Faculty Advisor, highlighted the key contributions of IT-HoD            Dr. Najiba, HoS’s Dr. Lenin J and Ms. Khoula Ali Saleh Alsadi and briefed about the journey of ACT-ISG, from the beginning of January 2019 till date.   Also she thanked the College Dean Dr. Issa Al Tubi, ADAA Dr. Halah Ahmed Salim Al Kathiri and all the other supporting IT staff for getting the official recognition.

The programme continued to earmark the office bearers of ACT-ISG: President- Ms. Raya Nasser Abdallah Mohammed Al Maawali, Vice President- Rajaa Said Saif Najeem Al Salehi, Treasurer- Jihan Hilal Badar Al-Harmali, Secretary- Alya Khamis Al – Owaisi, Faculty Advisor- Dr. Divyajyothi M G. The honoring ceremony was conducted by Dr. Najiba, IT-HoD,  and       Ms. Zainab Al Mawali, ETC Head.

 

 

The chief guest for the event was Mr. Maari Ponniah, President, ISACA Muscat Chapter.  He handed over the official recognition Certificate to IT-HOD and ADAA Dr. Halah, and addressed the gathering. He enlightened the staff and students about the effective utilization of ISACA student Group and the opportunities available for student Certifications. He elaborated on the basic to advanced level Certifications, including CSX Cyber Security, CISM, CISA, COBIT etc., which add great value to the student curriculum vitae and offer great opportunities for their career.   He also emphasized student membership with ISACA and its benefits.   He motivated the staff and students by stressing on the importance of academics and how they can excel in the same with these certifications to meet the market needs when they graduate. 

 

A memento was presented to Mr. Maari Ponniah as a token of remembrance. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks given by Ms. Fatma Said Abdullah Alabri. The IT Department would like to thank all the participants for making the event a success.
