Knowledge-Sharing Session on Quality Management Perspectives in Vale

The Department of Business Studies (BSD) organized a Knowledge-Sharing session for the students on ‘Quality Management perspectives in Vale’ on    10 February 2020 (Monday).

The guest speaker, Ms. Zainab Ali Hamed Al Ajmi, Engineer, Quality Department, Vale, enlightened the students on the quality perspectives implemented in manufacturing the pellets. Vale is the second-largest mining company in the world and leader in iron ore production, with operations in more than 30 countries.

She also elucidated on the various techniques of TQM which included Tahseen implementation, Lean production, Six Sigma, Kaizen and 5S practiced in Vale. It was an informative programme for the students.

The workshop elicited a very good response and participation from students. They found it interesting, educative and informative. The Question & Answer session that followed was, hence, very interactive and lively.

The speaker was felicitated with a certificate presented by Mr. Jaffer Ali Khan – HOS – Accounting. The workshop was organized by Dr. Alamelu Mangai, Faculty, BSD.
