Roving Exhibition on Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances at UTAS-A

Drugs are a real scourge that threatens social security, especially since this phenomenon kills the youth, cripples the capabilities of the building pillar in society, and limits their contribution to building the nation.

From this standpoint, the Health and Safety and Risk Management Committees at the Education Technology Center (ETC) in cooperation with stakeholders from the Royal Oman Police (ROP) organized a roving exhibition on “Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances” for UTAS-A stakeholders on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. The exhibition, which was in a roving bus dedicated to and equipped with the necessary resources for such campaigns, took place between the business and engineering buildings.

 

The program of the event included a discussion of the concept of drugs, their nature, and types with models displayed for these types, and every raw material that contains analgesic or stimulant elements that may lead to addiction that harms the individual and society if used for purposes other than medical for which they are intended.

 

Addiction methods and the most prominent tools used by drug addicts were also presented as well as illustrative pictures of the damages caused by drug addiction.

At the end of the event, the speakers affiliated with the ROP were honored by the Dean of the University, Dr. Ahmed Al Shehri, and the Head of ETC, Ms. Zainab Al Ma’ awali.

It is worth noting that the attendees interacted actively with the presenters and that they gave good feedback about the event.
