UTAS-A partners with Huawei to empower next generation of ICT leaders in Oman

University of Technology and Applied Sciences - Al Mussanah(UTAS-A) signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) with Huawei Tech. Investment (Oman) LLC, which will be the fifth Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy (HAINA) program launched in Oman.

 

The MoC was signed by Dr. Issa Saif Mohammed Al Tubi, Dean of UTAS – A and Robin Chen, CEO of Huawei Oman, and states that Huawei will deliver its training and certification programs to UTAS-A through HAINA, while promoting UTAS-A as a training organization to its students and customers base for HAINA-based programs and selected professional programs according to UTAS-A’s capability and capacity. Additionally, Huawei will provide Huawei Certification Academy Instructor (HCAI) training for professional instructors for each course direction. 

 

The HAINA program aims to define Talent Standards, provide Teaching Resources, support Operation Management, and build an effective ICT Talent Alliance. This program has been designed to deliver industry standard training and certification to students, to build the skills required by industry, improve employment opportunities for young people and help to fill the ICT skills gap within the Sultanate. Huawei Academy membership provides extensive learning resources, simulation tools, practical labs, certifications exams, industry visits and opportunities of work placements and internships for students. UTAS-A along with Huawei Oman aims to monitor the implementation of the HAINA program and offer suggestions for continuous improvement. 

 

In his remarks, Dr. Issa Saif Mohammed Al Tubi, Dean of UTAS – A said: “We are happy to partner with Huawei ICT Academy and work together on enhancing the ICT knowledge and skills of our students. I believe this initiative to begin the HAINA program will benefit the smart evolution of our society and country. 

 

Chen Bing, CEO of Huawei Oman said: “We are happy to roll out our ICT academy program in Oman in partnership with a leading educational institution such as UTAS-A. The Huawei academy will equip Omani youth with the necessary ICT skills and support digital transformation in the Sultanate.”
