Workshop on Development of ETC Operational Plan for AY 2019-2020

As per the mandate of the Quality Assurance Department (QAD) and in preparation for the next academic year, the ETC of ACT conducted a workshop on Development of ETC Operational Plan for AY 2019-2020 on July 7, 2019. The workshop was organized by the ETC QA Team, under the supervision of Ms. Zainab Al Ma’awali, ETC - HoC.

The workshop started with a presentation by the ETC-QA Coordinator presentation on the new Strategic Plan (SP) and the changes in the procedure in creating the OP. During the presentation, the ETC-QA Coordinator also discussed with the group the ETC Operational Plan Achievement Report (OPAR) for Academic Year 2018-2019 after the QAD Audit in June 25, 2019.

The second part of the workshop focused on the development of ETC-OP for AY 2019-2020. ETC staff members were grouped into 5 sets, each with 8-10 members. Each group was assigned to a SP Goal, Objective(s) and its Strategies.Groups were formed based on their duties and knowledge of the strategies assigned to them. For example, Goal 2 was assigned to Research Team with the supervision of the ETC Research Coordinator, who is a member of the College-wide Research Committee.

The Strategic Plan (SP) is the main tool in developing an OP while the OPAR serves as a guide on writing the Implementation Steps for the new OP. OPAR results are taken into consideration as well as the recommended improvements on identifying the OP’s Implementation Steps to achieve the ACT-SP KPI’s.

After preparing the steps for implementation, the groups presented and discussed their work with the ETC-HoC for additional information and recommendation. After each presentation, Ms. Zainab gave her suggestions and recommendations to the group. The groups then finalized their steps for implementation and submitted their work to the ETC-QA Coordinator for consolidation and submission to the QAD.

Finally, the ETC-HoC and ETC-QA Coordinator thanked the ETC Staff for their support and cooperation in making the workshop a success.
