A Workshop & Quiz Competition Conducted for PF Students


The Student Activity Committee of the Math Department organized a seminar cum quiz competition for post-foundation students of Calculus 1 on May 1, 2024, at 2 p.m. in CC102. The seminar comprised a talk on applications of calculus in AI-oriented Computational Fluid Dynamics followed by the Calculus 1 quiz competition. The talk was given by Ms. Blessy Jayaron Jose, followed by a quiz competition on Calculus 1 by Mr. Philip Abraham.

Ms. Blessy highlighted various points on the history and origin of calculus and how it can be integrated with Fluid Dynamics. Through PowerPoint presentations and videos, she displayed real-life examples based on aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, and machine learning. She gave an exceptional view on Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Mr. Philip conducted an extraordinary and mind-blowing quiz competition using PowerPoint and technical tools on CALCULUS 1 with major portions highlighted from EX.1.1 till Ex.3.2. It was also a quick revision for students, thus preparing them for final exams.

The event ended with the announcement of winners and a vote of thanks by Ms. Blessy Jayaron.
