Department of IT Conducts Seminar for GFP Students

The Department of Information Technology (IT) conducted a two-day seminar titled “Make a Career in IT” on 13th and 16th February 2022 for the General Foundation Program (GFP) students. Mr. Mohammed Irfan, the speaker in the seminar, motivated the students to study and successfully complete their foundation level. He also shared tips for good career prospects in IT and mentioned that the Department of IT is a learning environment where students are motivated and equipped with various skills that will help them find jobs and career opportunities in IT.
In the seminar, students were encouraged to be creative thinkers. In addition, the speaker pointed out that the demand for IT professionals is increasing every year as digitalization keeps spreading throughout the country. Mr. Irfan further discussed that the Department of IT facilitates easy learning for students through vital practical sessions
He also briefly covered the specialization courses in IT offered at UTAS-Al Mussanah including Networking, IOT Information Security, Software Development, Software Engineering, Database Systems, etc.
which are in great demand in the country and also throughout the world. Finally, it was shared during the seminar that IT graduates have good chances of finding jobs with good salaries which is why a lot of young learners are attracted to make a good career in IT.
