ELC Inducts New Staff

The English Language Center (ELC) of the University inducted six (6) new staff on 22 February 2022 from 12:10 PM to 1:45 PM at the New Meeting Room. The induction program was delivered by Dr. Nihad Al Zadjali, the Head of Center (HoC) together with the other members of the ELC Management.
In her talk, Dr. Nihad explained the overarching goals of the institution and highlighted the general expectations of the Center from each of the new staff. Aside from the HoC, Dr. Faisal Al Saidi, the Head of Section (HoS-CTM) also presented during the induction where he clarified matters regarding staff appraisal, teaching, and curriculum.
The other members of the ELC Management who also delivered their presentations during the induction were Dr. Annie B. Domede, Ms. Amani Al Jabri, Mr. Othman Al Balushi, Mr. Mohsen Ghorbanpoor, Mr. John Mathew, Mr. Mohan Ram, Mr. Poly Paul, and Ms. Autumn Dinkelman.
Among the topics covered during the staff induction included quality assurance concerns, HR-related issues, academic support services, advisement, registration, staff development program, eLearning, assessment systems, health and safety, and risk management.
Mr. Juma Al Ghafri, the HoS-ELP, also provided an initial induction to the new staff upon their arrival at the Center. Similarly, the level coordinators oriented these newly-joined staff before they started their teaching duties for this semester.
