Engineering Department Conducts a Webinar on a Multi-body Dynamics Simulation Software

01 Feb 2022

The Human Resource and Development Committee (HRDC) of the Department of Engineering organized a webinar on ADAMS: Multi-body Dynamics Simulation Software on Tuesday, 01 February 2022 from 12.00 PM to 2.00 PM. The live session was conducted by Mr. Mansoor Abdullah Al Dhahli, a lecturer from the M&I Section, Department of Engineering, UTAS-Al Mussanah.

The primary aim of the session was to give an idea about the Automated Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems (ADAMS) software to the engineering staff. This main aim was broken down into two specific objectives which are: Introduction to ADAMS and its history and an explanation on how to run the software with some exercises. ADAMS is considered a multi-body dynamics simulation software.  This   is a software developed by Dr. Richard H. MacNeal along with Robert Schwendler in 1963 under the name of MacNeal-Schwendler Corporation (MSC) but is now owned by .

During the webinar, Mr. Mansoor facilitated two exercises on ADAMS and demonstrated to the participants how to import different models from another designing software (SolidWorks) and how to perform more analysis through ADAMS software.

The program was opened by Mr. Karthikheyen Shanmugham, HRDC member from the Engineering Department. He welcomed the staff members and introduced the presenter to the 26 participants.
