UTAS-A Conducts Fire Evacuation Drill
HSCThe UTAS-A, through its Health and Safety Committee (HSC), conducted a fire evacuation drill across all departments and centres on Thursday, 31st March 2022. The HSC Coordinators with the support of sub-committee members accomplished the fire drill exercise successfully by evacuating the buildings when the alarm bells were activated at 09:30 AM.
The evacuation time in all the buildings was within 4-7 minutes depending on the number of people in each building. The staff and students cooperated well during the event. A fire rescue scenario at the open area between the Mechanical and BS Buildings was performed by assigned staff from the Engineering Department with the support of the University nurse.
