Webinar on Introduction to 3D Printing Technology Conducted
EngThe Engineering Department at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences - Al Musannah (UTAS-A) in partnership with InnoTech held a webinar about 3D printing technology on Tuesday, 15th February 2022 from 12.00 PM to 01.00 PM. The live session was conducted by Engr. Halima Abdulaziz Al Shizawi, Head of Operation and Maintenance of InnoTech. The primary aim of the session was to explain the application of 3D printing in real-life situations.
Engr. Shizawi introduced the participants to 3D printing and its applications and explained the 10D, an online 3D printing platform. The speaker shared that 3D printing technology is the advanced alternative to traditional fabrication methodology for creating spare parts, prototyping, creating customized items, and manufacturing with minimum waste. During the webinar, various 3D printing technology was showcased.
The speaker also underscored that 10D is the first 3D printing platform in the MENA region that helps users put their ideas into fruition and have this service at an affordable price. She also discussed that designers will be able to use the website to upload their 3D designs and get instant quotes and proceed to online payment alternatives. Engr. Shizawi also explained that the 10D marketplace offers users a variety of designs that create solutions according to the users’ preferences and needs.
Mr. Karthikheyen Shanmugham, HRDC Member of the Engineering Department opened the program and introduced the guest speaker to the 27 participants.
