14 Dec 2021

The Research Committee of Engineering Department, UTAS – Al Musanna organized a research webinar on December 14, 2021. Mr. Mahmood Zayid Khamis Al Ajmi, Lecturer, EE section of the Engineering department delivered a presentation “Internet of Things and Energy Sector” in the webinar. Around 80 faculty members attended the webinar.

The abstract of the presentation is given below:

“In today's pandemic scenarios, the Internet of Things is crucial in every industry. It is critical to make the transition to a smart system in order to eliminate direct touch. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a platform that allows all devices to connect to the internet and share data.

The presentation looks at how IoT can be used in a variety of industries, including energy systems. Production can be increased if IOT is implemented in the energy sector.  IoT and hybrid power systems function well together. To communicate with different devices, different communication strategies are utilized. To control energy losses, smart buildings can be constructed. The Internet of Things (IoT) can be utilized in smart city development to improve data management. To make transportation easier, an intelligent transport system employs IOT expertise. It also examines the obstacles of adopting IoT in the energy sector, such as privacy and security, and offers various solutions, such as block chain technology, to these issues.”
