Accounting Students Get to Know More About CBO During an Industrial Visit
BSUnder the initiative of the Industry Link and Community Engagement Committee of CEBA, an industrial visit to the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), Muscat, was organized for accounting students on 26 September 2023. This industry immersion allowed the students to gain in-depth knowledge of the various aspects of CBO’s operation and learn about the functions of specialized government banks, financial institutions, and leasing companies. During the visit, the CBO authorities also discussed with the students the importance of banking and financial needs at CBO, liquidity management, and methods of monitoring financial and banking performance.
Aside from gaining additional knowledge and first-hand exposure to CBO, the students were toured around the currency museum at the CBO premises. They were also granted the unique opportunity to see the different currencies of Oman and were introduced to how currencies are made. Before the end of the visit, a question-and-answer session was held where students raised some queries with the CBO staff.
