Supply Chain Management Students Visit Al Madina Logistics

The Industrial Link and Community Engagement Committee organized an industrial visit to Al Madina Logistics Services on 5 October 2023 for students specializing in supply chain management. This visit allowed the students to explore the logistics industry and gain practical insights into the operations and management of leading logistics companies. Mr. Ibrahim Saud Al Balushi, Al Madina’s Assistant Manager, hosted the visit and provided valuable information about the company’s operations. The company is a prominent player in the logistics industry, offering various logistics and supply chain solutions to multiple industries, including manufacturing and retail. The company’s dedication to innovation, efficiency, and customer satisfaction positioned it as a leader in the field.

 

During the visit, Mr. Al Balushi shared a brief introduction to Al Madina Logistics, highlighting the company’s mission, vision, and key milestones. He also gave a clear idea about logistics management, including inventory control, order processing, quality assurance, and valuable insights into supply chain optimization strategies. The visit also included a comprehensive tour of the company’s state-of-the-art logistics facilities, warehouses, sorting areas, packaging units, and a transportation section. The students witnessed the advanced technology and automation used to manage logistics processes.

 

A question-and-answer session during the visit allowed students to inquire about various aspects of the logistics industry and the company’s operations. This visit provided an excellent platform for students to network with professionals in logistics besides gaining a deeper understanding of their potential career paths, the skills required to excel in the industry, and the importance of logistics and supply chain management in today’s competitive business environment. Moreover, the immersion at Al Madina Logistics Company was an enlightening experience and a unique opportunity for all the participants as they were able to connect classroom knowledge with real-world practices.
