MS Holds a Session on Data Science and Application of Math in Data Science and AI
The Mathematics Section (MS) organized a student activity for Diploma II students on December 20, 2023, at CC 102. The event was conducted by Ms. Rana Tarannum Shaikh Ziyauddin and Ms. Blessy Jayrone Jose.
The program started with a warm welcome to all staff and students by Ms. Rana Tarannum Shaikh Ziyauddin, Student Activity Coordinator (Math Section), UTAS - Al Musannah. The major objective of the program was to make the students aware about the application of Math in Data Science and AI and also give revisions on the topics and formulas in Math for IT and Math for Computing. Ms. Rana Tarannum Shaikh gave the presentation on Introduction to Data Science and application of matrices, vectors, permutation, and combination and probability in Data Science and AI. After that, Ms. Blessy gave revisions on all the formulas and topics in Math for Computing and conducted a subject-specific quiz competition. Certificates were then presented to the winners.
Around 40 students of Diploma II attended the program which ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Rana Tarannum Shaikh.
