UTAS-A Students Compete at the MTC’s Science Week

October 8-12, 2023

During the 4^th MTC Science Week organized by the Military Technical College (MTC) Muscat, students from different universities and colleges across Oman participated in different competitions held at MTC from October 8 -12, 2023. The event, which aimed at enhancing the participants’ knowledge on science and technology, attracted several students across the Sultanate to participate including 27 students from UTAS-A belonging to Engineering and IT Departments who took part in the different events. They were accompanied by. Mr. Fahad Mohammed Humaid Al Khamisi, Mr. Mustafa Sulaiman Hamdan Al Shuhoumi and Mr. Saleh Abdullah Saleh Al Balushi. For the project competition, UTAS-A placed first. The other competitions held were as follows:

Mathematics Quiz Competition
Student project competition
Physics Quiz Competition
Python Code Master Challenge.

The Mathematics Quiz competition was held on October 9, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. The topics covered for Math quiz were: Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Coordinate Geometry, Logarithms, Trignometry and Number systems. Below are the names of students who participated in the quiz.

Bader Saleh Abdullah Al Saidi and Mardas Khalid Mubarak Al Maqbali won first place in the project competition with their project titled “Design and implementation of IOT-enabled vehicle detection and solar based wireless battery charging system for the electric vehicle while travelling on the road with data display.’’
